Shannon Rapalo Medina is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma-informed psychotherapist, and the founder of Your Story Matters Counseling. With over eight years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to culturally grounded care, Shannon also serves as Clinical Director across three ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) agencies in Minnesota—providing leadership, supervision, and system-level guidance rooted in compassion and accountability.

Her work centers Black, African, and diaspora communities through faith-affirming, spiritually grounded, and culturally humble practices. Shannon is dually licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin and provides outpatient psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and CEU-accredited training for mental health professionals and organizations seeking not just compliance—but transformation.

Shannon also offers specialized psychotherapy services supporting individuals who are working to change harmful behavioral patterns, strengthen accountability, and build healthier relationships through structured, skills-based treatment approaches.

With academic foundations from Augsburg University (MSW) and the University of Minnesota (BA in Psychology), Shannon blends evidence-based practices with cultural intuition to hold space for both individual healing and collective restoration. Whether supporting emerging clinicians, consulting with agencies, or walking alongside clients in recovery, Shannon leads with integrity, sacred care, and a vision for liberatory mental health.
